“My best moments with people are when I authentically connect with them on a human level.”
Hi, I'm Jacquie Drury.
I grew up in inner-city Columbus where I lived most of my life. I am a first generation college graduate. After college, I worked in the mortgage industry for a few years, and then a drop-out-recovery and prevention high school, before tackling the career change of becoming a therapist. Change and growth are ongoing parts in my story which, for me, has meant a lot of counsel along the way.
Personal experience has taught me the value of counseling. I believe in it because of how it has helped shape me.
The therapeutic relationship is a key piece of therapy. For this reason, I will often check in with you during sessions to assure you feel accurately understood and helped by me. Education and training are important, which I have (of course), yet I find my best moments with people are when I authentically connect with them on a human level.
I received my graduate-level training in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Xavier University, a top university in the field of professional counseling. I am licensed to practice through the state board of Ohio. I currently live in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
For fun I enjoy strategic board games, photography, and a good pun. My favorite way to relax is time spent in nature walking or hiking. I included this picture of a girl watering herself because self-care and self-compassion are ongoing principles in my own inner-healing journey.
